About the Overnight Oats Recipe

This recipe was developed by Rustic Supper with Peachtree Catering for our Heart of Health Exchange Mindful Meal Breakfast. This dish was a hardy addition to the 4-course, CBD- and herb-infused breakfast! It uses Papa & Barkley's CBD tincture, rose-infused coconut oil made using a LEVO oil infusion machine and hemp protein from EVO Hemp.

Thanks to the rose-infused coconut oil, this dish is rich in myrcene, a relaxing terpene to help you take on the day with ease.

We’ve all heard it: breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Try this easy, terpene-rich and CBD-infused overnight oats recipe that’s sure to get you feeling fueled up to take on the day ahead!

When it comes to nutrition, Hemp Protein is a great source of:
  • the perfect ratio of omega-3 + 6 fatty acids: having a balanced ratio of these fatty acids allows our bodies to produce their own endocannabinoids

    • Omega-3 fatty acids: an important nutrient that supports brain function and the cardiovascular system, and fights inflammation

    • Omega-6 fatty acids: supports the brain, metabolism, and bone health

  • Complete Protein: Hemp is a source of complete protein, meaning it has all 9 essential amino acids that your body needs for muscle growth and mental health (most plant sources of protein are not complete proteins!)

Chia Seeds are rich in:
  • Omega-3 fatty acids: supports brain function and the cardiovascular system while fighting inflammation

  • antioxidants: helps protect cells in the body from free radicals, which can reduce risk for heart disease, cancer, arthritis, and other illnesses

  • fiber: almost all of the carbohydrates in chia seeds are fiber; fiber helps you feel full more quickly and helps prevent constipation

Opportunities for Cannabinoid Infusion

If you'd like to enhance this recipe with cannabinoids, consider one of the suggestions below. When substituting or adding cannabis-infused products, be aware of how many mg of CBD (or, if you're in a legal state, THC) are in each portion of the recipe you are making. The standard dose of CBD is 15-30mg, but varies based on tolerance, reason for use, severity of condition, etc. We recommend starting low and going slow; click here to learn more about dosing) and be sure to read our CBD Safety article and talk to your doctor before incorporating new cannabinoids into your routine.

How to infuse your coconut oil with rose in the LEVO Oil Infusion Machine

If you don't have a LEVO, you can infuse your oil the old fashioned way

  • LEVO Oil Infusion Machine
  • 1 tbsp dried rose petals (we buy these in the bulk herb section at the natural market)

  • 1/2 c coconut oil (we like to use virgin, unrefined coconut oil)

    • This recipe makes 1/2 c of rose-infused coconut oil, but you only need to use about 1 tbsp in your cup of coffee — consider using the left over oil for a DIY lip balm or body scrub bar!

  1. Fill LEVO herb pod with rose petals and/or ground cannabis flower

  2. Add coconut oil to LEVO and set at 170°F for 30 minutes, as recommended by LEVO's infusion calculator

    • Your coconut oil does not have to be liquified at this point — the LEVO will take care of that for you!

Note: If you add cannabis flower, be sure to follow LEVO's time and temperature recommendations for infusing cannabis flower
