Introducing: Rosebud CBD
We are so excited to introduce you to one of the most versatile products we've found to date — Rosebud CBD's tincture!
Rosebud CBD oil is made from CBD-rich hemp flowers grown on US soil under the Oregon sun. Rosebud's CBD-rich tincture is comprised of CO2 derived hemp extract mixed with fractionated coconut oil and is pesticide, herbicide and solvent free. In addition, the people behind the brand are truly wonderful people who are on a mission to help get this medicine into the hands of patients who need it across the entire country.
A Full Spectrum Extract
Rosebud is a full spectrum or "full plant" extract, meaning that it contains trace amounts of all the cannabinoids and terpenes found in the cannabis plant. This is different from an isolate, which only contains one component of the plant. Since full-spectrum extracts will contain trace amounts of THC (under .3%, which is not enough to get anyone "high"), isolates are good options for people who are concerned about drug testing. However, a 2015 study showed that full spectrum CBD offers greater levels of relief than a CBD isolate.
Dosing with Rosebud CBD
It’s important to remember that everyone is different, and what works best for one person may not work for you.
We always recommend starting with between 5 and 10mg of CBD when first trying CBD, simply because it makes the most financial sense; it is more costly in the long run to use larger doses. You can then slowly increase your dose (we suggest 5mg increments) until you find an amount that works best for your specific needs.
There is no known overdose of CBD and few reported side effects when taken in high doses, such as dry mouth, slight drops in blood pressure that can cause dizziness, and drowsiness.
When it comes to Rosebud, each drop in their 350mg bottle is about .5mg CBD, meaning that 10 drops will be approximately 5mg CBD. A half dropper full is contains the following:
350mg bottle = approximately 12.5mg CBD
700mg bottle = approximately 25mg CBD
1000mg bottle = approximately 35mg CBD
Rosebud recommends always being consistent with your use to see best results over time for chronic issues, but it can also be used as needed or in higher concentrations for acute issues.
CBD Dropper used as: Tincture & Edible
Now, we're not sure that we personally would call this tincture "delicious" — but it has a very mild, earthy taste that is very tolerable.
Tinctures are created by soaking plant material in alcohol, apple cider vinegar, or vegetable glycerin to dissolve the beneficial compounds. After the mixture has been given time to sit between 1-15 days, the plant material is then strained out to create a finished product. Learn more about herbal extractions here.
This means tinctures can often taste...awful.
Founder & CEO Kristen Williams actually created a tincture while she was in California with cannabis trim and vodka, and wow, that stuff was terrible. You're supposed to hold tinctures under your tongue 15-120 seconds to allow them to absorb through your mucous membrane, but these burned so much that it was nearly impossible to last even 15 seconds.
But this tincture is very different.
Rosebud CBD uses fractionated coconut oil to carry their full-spectrum CBD extract. When you first put them under your tongue, you can't even taste them. It's once you swallow that you are left with a faint earthy taste in your mouth — a much, much lighter and more natural flavor than many of the artificially flavored tinctures we've tried.
This tincture can also work as an edible.
Tinctures can also be used as edibles when added to food. When CBD is digested, it is metabolized more slowly by the body but has longer lasting effects. This particular tincture is wonderful; since it's lightly flavored, you can add a few drops to anything from your coffee to a smoothie, yogurt, cereal, juice — or even just to your water! You can also put a little in your favorite dessert or mixed in with the butter on your morning toast, and even cook with it at low temperatures.
Not only can you ingest this tincture, but you can also use it as a topical.
Topicals are applied to the skin and work by stimulating the endocannabinoid receptors directly where your pain is located for fast, effective relief. This tincture can be added to your favorite lotion, oil, or other balm to enhance it with CBD for daily use — perfect for all the DIYers out there! Check out our recipes page for suggestions on how to enhance your own creations with CBD.
If you're not into lotions or perhaps have localized pain, you can also directly apply the oil to your skin for immediate relief.

While I don't typically feel many effects from CBD, I actually did when using this tincture mucosally! The difference this time around, I believe, was that I used it right when I woke up. A half-dropper full helped clear my morning brain fog and improved my focus during my yoga practice immediately after. That being said, if you typically require a higher dose of CBD to feel any effects, I highly recommend this particular oil!

I've been taking about a half dropper-full of this tincture under my tongue when experiencing anxiety and have had good results. About 15 minutes after using the tincture, I can feel my body mellowing out, and at about 30 minutes most of my anxiety has usually subsided. I'm not a huge fan of the aftertaste, but it dissipates within a couple minutes — and I don't notice it at all when I add it to food or beverage.
I have also been using this tincture topically. I added 5mg to 1 drop peppermint essential oil and a little bit of fractionated coconut oil and roll it on my temples when I get a headache, or on my neck and shoulders if they begin to feel tight. I also mixed 5mg with 1 drop peppermint essential oil, 1 drop lavender essential oil, and some fresh aloe juice to put on itchy bug bites — that has truly been a lifesaver this summer!

I wasn’t too keen on the after taste when used as a tincture. I took some to see if it would help relieve “rumble” stomach, but it did not. I also took some to see if it would help relieve stress, but I didn't have any noticeable effects or tell that it did.

I took the rosebud CBD at work because my stomach wasn't feeling great and lunch was in an hour. I could feel it soaking in under my tongue, but it didn't taste bad when I swallowed. About 10 minutes in my stomach felt a little better, but still had some irritation. After about 20 minutes my stomach was feeling normal for the most part. I was hesitant to take a tincture with my stomach feeling iffy, but it actually settled really well. After a half hour or so I was feeling hungry and ready for lunch. It helped my stomach feel better so I was able to better focus on my meeting and not my stomach pain.
