Telemedicine uses technology to offer long-distance diagnosis and treatment for patients, often over video-chat. This allows patients to have a doctor’s visit from the comfort of their own home, which can be beneficial if it’s difficult to travel due to a handicap or illness. This is also a good option for busy patients, or for those who simply feel overwhelmed in a clinical setting (something quite common!). When it comes to cannabis, telemedicine offers complete discretion; no one except for you, your doctor, and the state ever need to know about your medical marijuana card application.

Meet PrestoDoctor
When Rob went to get his medical marijuana card in California years ago, he visited a doctor on the beach. The experience, Rob said, was not professional — and he began thinking about people like his mother and grandma back in the midwest who would not feel comfortable seeing a doctor on the beach for a medical marijuana prescription. This inspired Rob to think about how he could make a better experience for patients.
Rob grew up in Chicago, then moved to San Francisco in 2006. He had worked as an equity research analyst on Wall Street before moving on to the tech industry as an analyst at Google. Through work, he met Kyle Powers, a software engineer who grew up in South Dakota and moved to San Francisco in 2011. With both of their backgrounds in the technology industry, it only made sense for Rob and Kyle to create a telemedicine service — and PrestoDoctor was established in San Francisco in 2014.
