Hempsley's Relationship with Sow Eden

Hempsley Founder, Kristen, was introduced to Sow Eden when they reached out on Instagram in January 2020. Kristen connected with Sow Eden founders Jacob and Lindsey over email and loved that they produce all of their CBD in-house in small batches with quality ingredients and, as they put it, "a TON of love." After following Sow Eden on Instagram for 7 months and admiring their authenticity and commitment to making the world a better place, Kristen invited them to join the Certified CBD Directory.

Sow Eden shared samples of some of their products with Kristen. Meet Sow Eden

"Sow Eden (pronounced Sō Eden) was founded by Jacob and Lindsey, two L.A. natives with a mission to make a difference in peoples’ lives. They both envision a world free of chronic pain and illness, and believe that plant-based compounds such as CBD should play a vital role in one’s wellness & self-care routine.

Sow Eden is the synthesis of Jacob’s passion for the humanities, the natural world, and plant-based approaches to restore wellness and balance. Jacob’s late grandfather, Edward, had undergone a kidney transplant and suffered from renal failure in 2015. In order to help alleviate some of the side-effects of his grandfather’s anti-rejection medications, Jacob provided a natural remedy he had been hearing about from his longest childhood friend – It was CBD oil from the flowers of the female cannabis-sativa plant, hemp. As the word about CBD spread in the mainstream, more and more people began to seek out Jacob for guidance on how they could begin incorporating CBD into their natural wellness routine. Thus, Sow Eden was born.

After meeting each other online, Jacob introduced Lindsey to cannabis. Lindsey’s passion for self care, especially her love of natural skin care, was the perfect platform for her to incorporate the healing power of cannabis. Lindsey plays a major part in Sow Eden’s product development. Much of the Sow Eden product line is formulated with women in mind, especially products like BLOOM, our Rose Geranium CBD facial serum, COMFORT, our PMS and Hormone balancing sublingual tincture, and our whipped body butters: CALM, BLOOM, and GLOW." Sow Eden is a family-owned boutique CBD company that focuses on ultra premium, whole plant CBD products. We make everything in-house, in small batches, with fully organic ingredients and the absolute best hemp extracts on the planet. Our broad spectrum formulas are more full spectrum than most full spectrum products on the market. As we like to say, "We do broad spectrum better (or best)!"

Tell us about any other ingredients that you add to your products

We add certified organic essential oils like Ceylon Cinnamon and Curcumin, Peppermint, Sweet Orange, Red Grapefruit, Bergamot, etc to our tinctures and to our topicals. Our carriers include premium, organic, and food-grade coconut-derived MCT oil and cold-pressed Evening Primrose oils, as well as raw virgin coconut oil, unrefined fair-trade shea butter, Jojoba, Rose-Hip, and Sweet Almond oil for our topicals. We do not use any artificial flavorings or fragrances in any of our products.

Is your hemp grown with any pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, fertilizers, or chemicals?: Yes. Let's face it, cannabis is an aromatic plant and practically every insect on the planet loves it. This being said, our hemp is grown with organic certified fertilizers and organic IPM (Integrated Pest Management) programs. No synthetic pesticides, fungicides, or fertilizers are ever used at any point in the growing cycle, from seed, to cutting, to full grown plants. We like to keep it natural. We have excellent relationships with our farms. We visit our farms multiple times per year and we talk to our farms multiple times per week for cultivation updates.

Does your company run analytics/testing on the product throughout the extraction process?: Our extraction partners do their own analytical testing throughout the process, especially to create zero THC oil.

Do you use organic farming practices?: Yes, absolutely. As we said above, all fertilizer inputs are organic certified and nothing synthetic is ever used on the plants or the soil.
