Internships with Hempsley are a great way to be introduced to the legal cannabis market, gain professional experience in a start-up environment, and grow personally while contributing to the growing international conversation about how cannabis can be responsibly used for wellness.

  • Attend weekly team meetings

    • We have weekly meetings on Monday evenings from 5-6pm (subject to change). These meetings are a time for the team to update one another on what they’ve been doing, what they need help with, and what they’ll be doing for the next week. 

    • Team members are excused from up to 1 team meeting per month (if necessary) 

    • Team members may video-call into the meeting if they will be away 

  • Attend trainings 

    • We host at least one training per month to teach you new information and important skills 

  • Complete at least 12 hours of assigned work per month outside of the team meetings and trainings (roughly 3 hours/week) 

    • This could consist of tasks like resizing images, putting together blog posts, helping to assemble workshop materials or products, and more 


  • Internships last a minimum of 3 months

  • At the complete of your 3 months, you will meet with the team to discuss whether or not to continue working with Hempsley


  • Guided mentorship with the Hempsley team

Design Intern


  • Assist with photoshoots 

    • Hands, styling, organizing 

  • Post-production 

    • Lightroom 

    • Doctoring blemishes

    • Extending and fading 

    • Naming & Organizing files


  • Creating social media graphics (IG, FB, IG Stories) 

  • Assembling ebooks 

  • Creating calendar graphics

  • Pinterest graphics 

  • Creating printable handouts with given template

  • Coming up with new template for recipe print outs 

  • Reviewing and consulting on design work 


  • Adding blog posts 

Video Intern

  • Assist in storyboarding and planning of promotional ads, tutorials, and vlogs

  • Filming videos

  • Compiling, animating, and editing videos, inserting supplied graphics

    • Editing videos per platform

  • Publishing videos across multiple platforms

Marketing Intern

  • Assisting with the development of content calendars and marketing & promotion plans

  • Assist in the copywriting and editing of marketing materials, providing thoughtful feedback and insights 

  • Analyzing data from our email newsletter campaigns, social media posts, website traffic, etc, generating marketing analysis reports, and presenting ideas on how we can increase our visibility 

  • Maintaining spreadsheets and performing cost analysis of marketing efforts, updating analyses to track the performance and ROI of marketing efforts 

  • Facilitating marketing campaigns ensuring timely and quality implementation of all related tasks 

  • Conduct market research & relay trends to assist in the development and execution of marketing plan objectives 

  • Develop strategies for expanding and reaching our audience

  • Assisting Hempsley in reaching out to the community through grassroots marketing; this includes distributing promotional materials throughout the community and reaching out to local businesses
